Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specific therapeutic treatment that has helped millions of people heal from the emotional impact of trauma.  Consider EMDR if you have experienced trauma or if you have any of the following symptoms:
  • Difficulty sleeping or focusing on tasks
  • Feeling hypervigilant or constantly on guard
  • Feeling stuck or unable to move forward in your life
  • Overreacting to noises or other stimuli in your environment
  • Feeling irritable, anxious or angry
  • Nightmares
  • Flashbacks
  • Intrusive thoughts or memories about a trauma or event
  • Feeling as if patterns from the event are repeating themselves in your current life
  • Experiencing intense emotional distress and/or physical sensations when triggers in your environment occur that remind you of the traumatic event
 
It is generally best practice when doing EMDR to have extra processing time. However, if longer sessions are not possible, please don't let that deter you.  Shorter EMDR sessions are available.
