I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience as a therapist helping a diverse group of individuals, couples, and families.
Philosophically, I believe that we all deserve to live our best lives and that most people need support, fresh ideas and new perspectives along the way. In addition to always drawing upon your individual strengths, I tailor your therapy to your specific needs and concerns.
I specialize in using EMDR with clients who want help resolving the impact of trauma on their lives. I am level 2 certified in EMDR. If you are interested in learning more about this form of therapy and how it can help you, feel free to click the EMDR tab to your left, and be sure to mention it during our initial consultation. |
Some of the treatment methods I draw from include:
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (looks at your thinking and behavior patterns and how each effect your life)
- Solution-Oriented Therapy (focuses on your strengths and what is already working in your life)
- EMDR (trauma therapy)
- Life Skills (develops mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal relationship skills)
- Mind-Body approaches (such as integrating exercise, nutrition, yoga, and meditation into your life)
As a parent of two terrific and high-spirited school-age children, I appreciate the unique challenges that parenting can bring to our lives. I have a special interest in providing parents with support to be more effective with their children. If you want to learn more about the Parenting Support I provide, please click on the tab to your left.
Originally from the East Coast, I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania in 1992. Shortly thereafter, I moved to Colorado and attended the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work. I earned my master’s degree in 1995, and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1997. I feel so honored to help people live the lives they deserve, and I can’t imagine doing anything else!
My husband of 15 years and I have 2 children, ages 9 and 6. I practice and teach yoga regularly, I love to cook and read, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy anything that allows me to be active and outdoors.
